Amala Heeter is a mother, nature enthusiast, and passionate practitioner of yoga. Amala first encountered yoga in 1999 while seeking remedy for a back injury. She soon realized that, in addition to being a healing practice, yoga tunes ones body and mind in the direction of a more aware, healthy, and peaceful existence. Since then she has become a certified yoga instructor, drawing from the teachings of Integral Hatha, Vinyasa, and Anusara styles, and is currently studying with senior teacher Rod Stryker. Amala's teaching style is playful, effective and unintimidating. Her classes blend the creative art of flow with the transformative capacity of holdings (remaining steady within postures) and will surely deliver a practice that is grounding and rejuvenating. Since becoming a mother, she also enjoys teaching prenatal and postnatal yoga, and infant massage classes.
