A TIME FOR MOMS –a self-care class for moms
Do you have the baby blues? Attachment to our babes is magnificent whether breastfeeding, baby-wearing, or co-sleeping! It also demands more of our energy than we have ever had to give -up to 80% of new moms experience some level of post-partum stress. It is easy with our newly limited time and fatigue level to become detached from ourselves.
As moms we experience many life changes as we move through this new phase of our lives –changes in body and body image, hormones, family structure, social changes, sleep deprivation. A Taiwanese research study on new moms found that “feeling one’s life is restricted” and feeling “upset about your postpartum body” were amongst the top ten stressors listed by most new moms.*
Would you like some time and space to care for yourself? – a time to reacquaint yourself with your new body? Come join a community of moms for a time to dance …a time to relax… a time to journal…and a time to share. This class is a collaboration between Happy Bambino and Hancock Center for Dance/Movement Therapy.
